. and we turn our attention to tucker barnes and what is going on with danny. > we've had a lot going on. h adwe unththrstorms overnight and wor flooding overnight in baltimore. and we're starting with clouds d humidity and the hpotential of more halfy rain here in washington. not danny related buyou can see the cloud cover across the washington area. s st ff to the south an wntords wathe carolinas, the rain showers. all of that energy is pushing in our direction as an upper a. el lopu shw eso inurr w and because of that, the potential of showers and heavy thunderstorms this afternoon, the national weather service about an hour ago issued a flash flood watch. this goes into affect at 2:00 this noon for the counties in green. and that would include downtown washington and baltimore. so be ready here. the potential is to e 2 1-1- inches of rain in a single thunderstorm over the course of 15 minutes to half an hour if the storms get going later. 74 degrees. humidity at 85%. it feels tropical and feels like rain. and nature will deliver later this afternoon. so be ready. showers and thunderst

going to influence the weather and tucker is here with the details. >> thank you very much. danny will definitely play a part in hoour weekend forecast. we'll have to watch it very carefully. let's start with danny. we just got an update and maximum winds are 60 miles per hour. the national hurricane center will send in a plane to the storm. you can see it's looking more impressive on our satellite presentation. a plane will go in there to take a look but it looks like it is intensifying. they feel it is better organized and likely to become a minimal hurricane as it tracks off to the northwest over the next couple of days. will it play a part in our weather? i'll have more details on that coming up. but let's look at his afternoon first. we have some lonecdiuss out there associated with a weak cold front, stretching from the north into pennsylvania. there is a couple of light showers that might snedi in here this afternoon so we can't rule out the possibility of a scattered shower or san isolat thunderstorm later this afternoon. 83 degrees right now. humidity 54%. pressure 30.

degrees. i'm he beginning to agree with tucker that we'll have to check into that reporting station. it seems a little errant there. here is the satellite-radar composite for the region. there is your precipitation out to the west. you can see how it is moving north and east ever so slowly but you got some rhetty good rain there in portions of west virginia, western portions of virginia. for us, we we've got some clouds. here is a look at the surface map for today. main feature for us is an upper level low that is kind of pushing through ever so slowly. there is a frontal system that came through. that is responsible for our cooler, quote, unquote temperatures instead of being in the upper and mid-90s. we'll be in the up are 80s today. some scattered storms work their way in here during the morning and later on today, some showers and thunderstorms here and tere. forecast looks like this. lots of clouds around. scat are the showers and thunderstorms -- scattered showers and thunderstorms as i said. high about 87 degrees downtown. for tonight being a muggy night with early showers a
